Hi Janet,
Thanks for your comments and thanks for pointing out that God is not dependent on people having a Christian heritage before He can save people. God has no grandchildren. He just has children. I am thankful for my Christian heritage and God used it to save me. But He certainly was not needful of it.

I always love meeting people who know anything about Nfld. or with a Nfld. connection. My grandfather was a carpenter and he built the fish plant in Harbour Grace many years ago. I am sure that your grandfather would have known several people in my family or people connected to them. My father pastored in Placentia for a short time and I worked there one spring, earning money to go to Memorial University.

Great to hear from someone with such great roots! God bless.

Hi, Ken.

My grandfather often spoke of Carbonear. He was from Harbour Grace, and I think he worked at Placentia. He left NFLD as a young man, and ended up in Montreal. Even though he spent most of his life in Quebec, he never lost his accent, nor his love for NFLD.

Unlike you, I didn't have a Christian father, and my grandfather was not saved, either. I praise God for His grace in saving ME.

Blessings to you.
